The theme we're currently working on is 'Homes'. As part of that we discussed what a house in the future might be like. Would it be made of different materials? How would it be built? Would it have different appliances etc?
The children, in groups, drew up a plan for what might be found inside a house of the future. Today they start creating a large piece of art using a 3D effect to make it look like you are looking into their designed house!
Next week we start using junk art materials to build an appliance found in the house!
Hi everyone! Here is a list of the books that your child has taken out of the mobile library. I will update this every fortnight. Just thought it might be an easier way for you to know what books your child has taken out and when they are due back to school!
At the start of this year, I asked the children to partner up with someone in the class. They were asked to interview each other and find out what each other's interests was. We then looked at examples of abstract art and focused on abstract portraits!
The class were then challenged to create an abstract portrait of their partner and show the interests through the picture! I wanted them to be imaginative and not worry about trying to make it look realistic. We have such a range of different styles and most went in very different directions!
